Partners and Collaborators
AHI pursues a highly collaborative model for business and corporate development. Projects are based on mutually agreeable statements of work and budgets to design, build, commission and operate CarbonSaverâ„¢ plants in targeted applications and territories. They also integrate evaluations of potential markets and undertake plans to commercialize CarbonSaver within specific contexts of application. AHI contributes technology, know-how and human capital to these collaborations. The contribution by other parties depends on their level of participation. Project sponsors contribute their know-how and underwrite the cost for the projects, including system design, manufacturing, project management, permits and licenses, commissioning, and operation. Industrial collaborators make in-kind contributions to the development and execution of the statement of work for the project. At a third level, contractors are engaged to assist with the implementation of the projects.In all cases, AHI aims to own all intellectual property, as well as all right, title and interest in any intellectual property rights conceived and/or made by AHI and/or the joint ventures.
Generally, the process involves, but is not limited to the following steps:
- The parties develop a mutually agreeable statement of work and budget (including deliverables and timelines) for the project;
- Once commercial viability has been demonstrated to the satisfaction of the stakeholders, the parties develop a commercialization plan for roll-out of CarbonSaver in the fields of use and territory;
- AHI reserves the right to be the sole supplier of key components of CarbonSaver for all commercial and non-commercial purposes in accordance with an AHI licensing plan;
- AHI reserves the right to continue to use CarbonSaver in all fields of use and territory for its research and development activities; and
- The commercialization plan will address the management of carbons and CO2 credits as well as the distribution of revenue from such sales.
