Downstream Stationary Residential (Ex: City Gate)

The city gate is the location where pipeline natural gas enters a community. From there, the gas is distributed to the various end users. A CarbonSaver installed in such a location would take a stream of gas from the pipeline, enrich it with hydrogen, and send it back into the pipeline. In such an application, the percentage of hydrogen downstream from the CarbonSaver would need to remain fairly low, say four per cent or less, to ensure proper functioning of downstream natural gas appliances. Even at this level of hydrogen, lower carbon dioxide and NOx emissions result.
