CarbonSaver

CarbonSaver is carbon capture for natural gas. It is a plasma-arc process that decarbonizes natural gas in a compact reactor that is in-line with the fuel delivery system. CarbonSaver can remove carbon and produce hydrogen-enriched natural gas (HENG) without generating any CO2 in the process. HENG reduces CO2, carbon monoxide (CO), unburned hydrocarbon and NOx in flue gases, and it can improve the efficiency of end-use equipment, including power generation devices. The carbon has applications in metallurgy, tires and manufactured rubber goods. AHI is currently demonstrating the feasibility CarbonSaver of  operations at commercial scale at various points in the natural gas system, including compressor engines, local distribution systems and combustion turbines.

    Concept

A stream of pipeline gas is diverted to a CarbonSaver unit and processed, producing a hydrogen-rich gas stream that goes back into the pipeline, as well as high-quality carbon.
